I had a huge red hind bite me on the arm when I thought it was dead and she diddnt want to be

I screamed and the deer let go then I had to jump on it with the knife

Not wild, but ive shot a few with 270. They are tough and one point to consider is do they know you are there? If calmly feeding they will go down quickly, if riled up they wont go straight down with a chest shot. neck is only for a stout projectile and head will do it, but just dont shoot low.
