20” is a pretty good compromise if still wanting to stretch a bit every now and then. Even 18” be ok as mentioned. Put a DPT magnum can on it and away ya go. Don’t worry about the stainless baffle, it’s just extra weight. Treat the first alloy baffle as an expendable and just replace it when needed which won’t be all that often (haven’t had to do it yet on any of my short tubes).
