    28nosler

So been thinking about a new boom stick for a while, something with a bit more grunt, I’ve heard the 28n is the latest and greatest. What would be the best way to build one? Could I just get a Remington 700 in 7mm rem mag and get it rechambered? Is it that easy? I don’t really like the look of those Browning’s so was thinking something semi custom

I reckon cheapest option is to tech Amber a Howa.

    Will be accurate and reliable.

Be aware the 28 and it’s Nosler brothers are hard on throats and you can ruin a barrel very quick if you don’t clean them properly or take time to let them cool.

That said barrels are expendable items and as a good and recently late mate always said “fun costs money “!

Another cheaper option over a custom is a Christensen which is like a semi custom rifle. I’ve got a mate deals in them.
Purely for hunting the browning is a very well put together rifle.

The browning quality is far higher than the current remington out of the box.

Yeah I have seen that, but I like the idea of building something up, and tarting it up as I can hide the cash from the mrs

Have a talk with Stacey at Hamills Tauranga, He has one and recently shot a group just over 4 inches at 1200 yards. He loves them.

Yes you can do it as simply as that, but you will be limited to 180gr bullets as a max. Also if you want something that's capable of shooting little group's at long range i'd suggest using an after market match barrel on it.

I run an 8 twist bartlein on my 28N. It shoots the 195gr Bergers super well.

Pretty cool cartridge especially when shooting the likes of a 180 eldm or 195gr Bergers.

I had been following Ryan Pierce's custom 28 Nosler builds via FB before i had mine built.

Them seem to be an inherently accurate cartridge.

So if I got a rem 700 in 7mm rem mag that would work in regards to action size etc? Yeah I think I would like a carbon barrel with a t2 break.

Yep all the LA 700s are the same length.

If you want to run 195s seated out in the neck you'll need to put a Wyatt extended mag box in it.

I used a custom Stiller Predator action (700 clone) which was already inletted for the Wyatt box.

    I run a T2, it works awesome!
