Thread: 30mm optilocks clearance

Will one piece 30mm optilocks take a 50mm scope with ease?

Up to 56 mm from memory

Not with ease.

This pic from their catalogue shows the 2 piece mounts but the numbers are for the one piece "ringmounts"


A mate with the VX3 x40mm lens reports its outside diameter is 47mm but of course that will vary with brand.
He has 30mm tube and optilocks and says 6mm clearance from a #3 contour Shilen barrel, which would leave you with <1mm clearance. No room for scope caps...

I happily mounted a Zeiss Diavari 3-12 x 56 on a Sako 85. Might depend on eye relief requirements to clear the knox but it worked for me.

Yip I have a 56mm on mine but very very close should do 50mm easy

The 30 mm’s come in two heights. My guess is you need the taller set for a 56mm obj.

yep the 30mm one piece only come as a low. I have decided to stick with a 44mm obj.
I had a pm and depending on where you set up for eye relief and the way a bigger bell can tapper back i didn't want to risk it.
Also i do like to run a neoprene cover
