    ammo in the mail

I sent away some empty 223 brass I sold on trade me this was all resized and inert 100%
I got a call today from a guy from NZ post he said that the staff were concerned when they felt the package but quickly realised they were empty's and he wanted to confirm there were no live primers in the brass.....

he said that they had a live round go off the other day coming close to injuring 2 staff members so they are a little touchy at the moment when it comes to ammo

just thought it put that up just in-case anyone is planning on sending ammo illegally

They must be rough cunts to set ammo off. I dropped all sorts of ammo on all sorts of ground and never had one blow

I think I read another thread here a while ago about this.
They must be rough if the ammo goes off.

But if you look at the prohibited items list for nz post, I think that any firearm, part or ammunition or part of is prohibited items to send.
Yet they happily allow us to send the stuff which is a bit odd.

They won't stop me sending a gun but they did stop me sending a coin which they deemed collectible. I thought that was a little odd.

They are strange with those things.
I always wrap in card now so they can't feel what it is

me nether mate but it might be the same as not using pointed ammo in a leaver action tube feed the point of the round can strike the primer of the other and set it off with the recoil of the firearm

they could of dropped the package 100 times but the circumstances have to be right and drop 101 done the deed if ya know what I mean

D, just make sure you tightly wrap it next time and bubble wrap it, so it doesn't make any sound when being handled.
