Plastics aside, brake clean is good stuff. Just give it time to gas off, and then apply inox or lanox.
It will make stuff rust if you don’t put something on after use though.

Depends on if you have plastic firearm or a real firearm......

Don’t use it on a glock.......(unless disassembled and only on the metal bits.....)
