Sonic is 16.8 ounces or 476 gr. dpt standard is 260 grams, maybe just around 315 grams with a stainless steel blast baffle. Note quite punching in the same category.... Had 4 extra baffles to the stainless version and it still weight only 423 gr and should reduce sound way better than the sonic...

Not in the same weight category, but are both around the same price range and your suggestion to add $180 of baffles to the DPT to "possibly" be better than the sonic puts it way out of range.
And 200g is nothing to me

    Shit that thing looks huge?

I have abused my waitaki and still going strong.

You are still going to use hearing protection though for mag dumping? For out right sound suppression it's very hard to go past ASE but they are heavy, however if you were going to be doing competitive shooting you wouldn't run a suppressor and for shooting turkeys the extra weight doesn't make you miss.

    Howdy
Remove the cap screws, turn it BY HAND until it stops and then pull forward.Might need a tap with a rubber/plastic mallet.

I am running a 22mag MAE can on a 20 inche AR15 , and its not bad , ( its off my hornet ) as a temp measure , i am thing of getting the 223 model its a little longer than the 22mag 6.5 inche jobbie .

Not noticed any gas blow back yet .

I do how ever wish MAE would make a rachet locking version like AAC or ODL etc , that mounts on to a muzzle attachment , and locks in place .

    Later Chris

    I always say

Cheap and light, no rapid fire - DPT
Cheapish, rapid fire, but heavy - MAE or ASE
Light, Rapid fire and you have money - ODL

I upgraded to ODL and wouldn't go back.
