    Question Barnard SMS Action

New Barnard SMS Action from Whidden Gunworks « Daily Bulletin

Interestingly the action is not advertised on their website. Does anyone have hands on those actions and are they available in NZ soon?

I asked about them at the end of lockdown. They were going to make some more "soon" and contact me. I've heard nothing yet.

If they have a deal set up with Whidden then I wonder if it'll be like buying lamb from Countdown - we get what's left after the lucrative export market has been sorted.

Do they have any retail price for NZ market yet?

I don't think so. I was given a rough estimate but it's probably too early. Like you say, they aren't even on the website yet.

Must have missed something here. Is this new action SMS different from the standard SM that's near enough to fit into most 700 short action stocks and takes 700 compatible triggers?
NB I have an SM in a boyds 700SA stock with HS floor plate and mags.

Whidden gunworks claimed Barnard SMS action is the drop-in remington 700 clone which can use current aftermarket 700 stocks without modification.

Thanks for your information! May I ask did they mention when they will release the action in NZ?

FYI here is the response from Barnard:

    Hi Ran,
We are currently out of bolts for these actions, these should be a little over a month away from being completed.
We plan on doing the official release soon but have already started selling these to our dealers as you have been able to see from Whidden’s website.
This action will be compatible with most Remington aftermarket stocks, triggers, magazines, and floor metal.

    Regards,

    Mathew Bartlett
