Thread: Bergara question

I have one of those Bergara's with the 20 inch 12 twist barrel that I bought as a packable rifle. It shoots well with 150 grain spire points so would be fine out to 300 metres with the right load. The throat is quite short at 72.6mm crush with the spire points so should handle most projectiles and 150 or 165 grains should be ideal. Mine has a 1.5 to 5 power variable which to me is just about ideal. Break open rifles can give problems with tight cases so full length sizing is advisable. I am using a light load of 41 grains of AR2206H which should give around 2,500 fps or a little more, 44 grains should produce around 2,650 fps with the 150 grain.
