Looks like the Delta's seem to have a pretty good rep around here, is Sarvo the importer or them? Just wondering if he's the owner of this website https://deltaoptical.co.nz/

Also I would gladly get a $2k pair of binos, if I could! Thanks for all the suggestions everyone

I don't think a 2k bions will get any more deer than the $400 ones but $1600 on fuel will give you the best Chance off getting lots off deer so get a pair you like & put them to use

Fair enough, but as someone who shoots for a living, has done work for an optics manufacturer and used most of the top brands, 'saving' money on binos isn't saving.

For open country and poor light you are looking at a minimum of 42mm objectives or more, and once you get to that diameter the differences are pretty clear.

Chinese glass is improving but I would hazard to ever call it 'good' due to chromatic aberration and collimation issues, Japanese assembled binos are better but inconsistent between each pair.

Sure, one $600 pair may be comparable to a $2,000 pair in the shop car park but they won't be close after looking through them for 20 minutes straight at something 800m away. Mounting them to a tripod makes the differences clear.

Vortex are gung-ho about their warranty because it costs them so little to grind the product out, I've sent in Leicas from work that were close to wrecked and they came back fully functional but with battle scars still visible. Yes you might get a free upgrade when undergoing warranty work with the aforementioned manufacturer but this is because their product is essentially disposable.

With second hand or finance deals available, the 'Alpha' glass isn't so out of reach and they hold resale value well enough so long as you don't pick one with a built in rangefinder.

The above is even more evident with spotting scopes.

I'd be more than happy to help someone out who was truly keen and had a 0$ budget due to their situation, but then I see people rocking a brand new Sako but using shitty binoculars...

Have a look into the Delta range? Im currently using a Delta and an older Steiner. Both are great - eye fetique was one of my main concerns when I decided a bino and both of these work great for me.

I bought a pair of Meade Rainforest pro 10x42. $450 from Jacobs if you want to buy local, I bought from US and saved a few $’s. I’m very happy with them, but don’t have high quality European to compare to.

I use Tento 7x50 binos, of Russian origin, they are old, but the sharpness both day and night is excellent. I calculate that in your country you can buy them for less than U $ S 250 (dollars)

There is still gunpowder left, the Grim Reaper can wait.
