Thread: Current new gun status

I am posting this in the hope it may help some people avoid disappointment over missing out on getting that new rifle.
Some new rifle brands are in short supply. If you are looking at a particular rifle and you are told the supplier is out of stock etc....its not a sales pitch. Due to covid19, a lot of suppliers (including firearm manufacturers) have had to shut down....some still are and a lot have huge back orders.
If you see something you want and you get the heads up its that last one....don't muck around. I have been buying and selling a few guns of late and its fast or your last.

You mean those assholes that threw gun owners under the bus...no. I have a few mates that have missed out on rifles they really wanted because they were mucking around or trying to save a couple of dollars when they were told up front its the last one etc...

I'm a naturally suspicious type, I've been into pretty much every gun shop in Auckland over the last week or so and they all say getting stock at the moment is pretty tough. Especially coming from the states.

Thats happening across many fronts. I work in the computer industry and computer hardware in many areas is really becoming pretty scratchy. Really limited stock if it is still available.

I think we can expect this more on imported goods (which is nearly everything), not less in the coming months.

Mate runs a gun shop in Texas and it’s the same there but he says that’s because people are buying guns and ammo like they bought toilet paper when Covid hit the news...panic buying.

Interesting question. All I know of is Barnard, but that's not really hunting. What else is there?

imagine the buying if biden starts to look popular!
everyone knows if he gets elected he will last a few months before "ill health" then its a clinton ring in.

Would say what's available in the stores now will be the best $ you pay, price will only go one way with new stock. Ammo I saw arrive in a store last week was up from $26 to $35.

A 6 month wait is almost par for the course when ordering a new Blaser R8 so, shameless plug follows...
