    Made famous in the Thompson SMG. Until they realised it worked just fine with straight blowback... AND that it anyway stopped working as soon as the gun innards got a bit dirty. Fascinating how it was discovered with low power loads in naval guns. The SMLE bolt handle jumps somewhat higher with low Trail Boss loads too.
