Handled a Tikka and the Howa felt better to me personally. Remains to be seen if the floppy fore end of the stock will be an issue as when the bipod is loaded its pulling the fore end away from the barrel but could be putting stress on it further back. Havent had a chance to shoot it yet though but thats just my thoughts of someone who had a $1500 budget but went with a $999 rifle.

That was $999 for rifle, rings and 30mm Nikko Diamond.

Go straight for a Sako 75 in 308. Start and end of story.

Get a second hand tikka in 7-08 from an Aucklander, the only dirty thing it will have seen is a bit of latte spill on it.
And the inside of the barrel will probably be immaculate.

Savage Weather Warrior/Trophy Hunter/Classic, Marlin XS7, Ruger American, Howa, Remington 700, second hand more rifle that was more expensive new, pretty much whatever you prefer the feel and fit of.

If you find me a Sako 75 for under $1000 I'll be very tempted!

I would have gladly obliged IF you had gotten the calibre right.

I have a 7mm08 but prefer the "flat white" option.

I tend to agree with the Howa option too...

Whats the flat white option? Mocha with extra marshmallows option? Long black option? Short black? Haha.

I'm already Short and very dark.... having a "long black" just sounds intimidating... as for marshmallows and chocolate in coffee.... NO.

At 6:30am at the service station its quite amusing watching some people ordering poofter mocha frappe reach around coffees with 6 sugars and extra marshmallows, you really wouldnt pick the tatted up goatee sporting brick layer for one, haha.
