I got a 50 buck single flambeau from HF and chuck it in the tray of the ute and pack stuff on it, no damage so far. Wouldn't use it for aero , but I think great for dollars

+1 Pelican heaps better but you pay for it. The Plano Double I have has been fine and fits everything I have in the safe and has traveled happily around the country a couple of times enduring bagage handlers and the like's without damage or knocking out of Zero. It's also easy to put 3 padlock's on it to give the check in staff a level of comfort. I always check in, show, lock up and they chuck the inspected / fragile /priority tape and tickets on it.

Touch wood no issues yet. Oh BTW ammo separately in checked luggage too please (I'm sure you already know this- less than 5KG packed!). Mate of mine took his day pack as a walk on bag on his way down to the Wapiti Roar this year and forgot he'd had a .22lr ammo explosion in it while out possum-ing the month before. Result - set off the screening alarms... you got it... Sir do you mind coming over here and explaining this... Yep there on the screen 6 little .22lr sub rounds hidden away in the seam recesses of his pack. Result missed his flight to Q-town had to grab the next, minus the .22lr stowaways and just made it to the Wapiti Briefing... Oh and he's now on the travel Watch list - I fair pissed myself when I heard that!

Mate the flambeau are great compared to plano, dont flex as much and much stiffer.

FYI the HOWA branded cases which go pretty cheap are just re-branded Flambeau single gun cases so a good buy there.

I use a hard case scabbard type from traps.co.nz, really takes the knocks but a bit with suppressors or long barrels.
