Gun City Mosin Nagant PU sniper reproduction

Its been a few years since GC has brought in and made up some PU snipers (with replica mounts & scopes) for resale in NZ. I think they were retailing somewhere between $1299-$1499 dependent on if there was a sale etc. Therefore I was wondering since then how have the rifles have performed and if they were worth the fuss after all? Thanks.

Can you even get ammo for them now?

@Cordite Not entirely familiar with the 54r ammo situation on the commercial market atm but I think its still mostly available at the big stores. There must be quite a number of these repro rifles floating around. I'm curious if they shoot any good or if the scopes have kept zero after use.

I had one that i bought for 500 bucks and they just slapped the scope mounts on with no effort to make them square to the bore.
They take a lot of work to mount them properly.
I ended up swapping mine for a jungle carbine.

I like the PU Mosin, the GC conversions are crap, every single one I've ever come across was rough and obviously done as quickly as possible. Can't say I recommend them.

No, the ones i purchased were bare rifles through Reloader's supplies one had a beautiful hex receiver, i then went through the hoops of creating a repro snipper variant, improving accuracy and leaning where she needed upwards pressure, after that the old girl shot really well, i didn't mind the rifle at all.
