I've gone 20" and it was a brand new Tikka 7-08 barrel that Jaco reamed.
First two groups once I got it hitting paper.
2800fps from factory 175 ELDX after 10 rounds.

Had this for a wee while now but only recently got the stock. A huge thanks to @Sideshow who helped get the stock over to me from Slovenia. The company is called Carbonomix and the bare stock weighs 454g total weight in the photo is 3618g. 6.5CM barrel.

Picked this up a while ago after i sold my mini due to not being able to find a nice light hubter stock for it that didn't cost more than the barreled action or wasn't a chassis.
This was a cancelled export order from Hardys.

    Howa 1500
1:8 twist Duracoated Stainless Hardy match barrel (was originally 28" now a much more user friendly 20")
Bedded in a factory Howa walnut stock
    Trigger about 2.5lbs very nice
Nikko zero lok Talley knock offs
    Nikon Monarch 4-16×40
    DPT suppressor
Been sitting at the smiths for a while but picked it up late yesterday, cant wait to get it back to the range it shot fantastic with fiocchi 55sp before the chop, thread and bed so expecting it to shoot as good or better post surgery all going well.

Nothing flash but it was interesting so I had to have it. Little Beretta bolt action/semi auto 22lr. Functions well bolt or semi and is super accurate using irons

Big props to forum good guys @Tahr and Brian for dropping off this beauty today. Early 308 BLR super sweet trigger job on it, quality 1 piece mount, Bushnell Legend HD 1.75-5×32 scope and niggaloh sling.
She's been rebarreled at some point with a stainless barrel will be chopping it down and threading to suit DPT suppressor then durablue the barrel to match the rest. I think i might leave the action with the worn blueing as it looks pretty damn sweet. Man if she could bet she could tell a story or 2, super slick action feeds nicely. Fits in the hand just right around the mag.

I had one of these in 308 (an MLR) for many years until I switched to left handed bolts. Cool rifle.

So been lurking and posting on here for a wee while whilst "getting organised" and having consulted with a number of my experienced hunting mates I settled on .243 caliber as being a good all rounder first rifle ( a choice backed up by some of you fullas) I'd been doing a fair bit of on-line research and looking at various offerings on trademe when....
.....she hit me right between the eyes, with her dark, sleek and mysterious lines, calling out to be cupped and caressed by my rough, calloused builders hands (or maybe not!)
All thoughts of being sensible went right out the window and I had to have her/it (encouraged by the Burris Fullfield sitting on top). Just so you can join me in the drool fest, here's some "factory" shots of the Franchi Horizon .243WIN Synthetic that'll be collected in the next week or so....Name: horizon-black-synt2.jpg
