Guncity Scope, can it work for now

I bought my first rifle second hand and it came as a package, savage .223 with a synthetic stock, minor blemishes but happy so far.

The scope though, it's a 3-9 thing from gun city. Looked through the paperwork that came with the rifle and found the scope is this:
    https://www.guncity.com/gun-city-scope-3-9x40-377444

I've yet to take it hunting but my question is: must I replace it before I take it out? I really don't want to get eyes on game, then fluff the shot because my scope sucks or worse, wound the animal.

I'm not able to buy a scope right away but I have the patience to save up for one. Keen to hear all your thoughts as everywhere I look I see advice to spend as much on a scope as the rifle (and this clearly is not)

If it's the same scope, looks the same, as what comes on their Savage Axis rifle/scope package it'll do you fine until you can afford something better.Bought a 223 rifle package for my boy a few years ago and it handled the treatment he gave it and he's a roug##ker with his gear. Whatever you do don't blame the rifle for any missed shots. They punch well above their weight accuracy wise usually.

Try a whole range of scopes if you can. Often times some scopes dont suit your eye relief or you dont like the recticle or a multitude of reasons why that particular scope doesnt do it for you . Theres way more scope makers out there than just Leupold , and there will be one that suits your need and budget.

Scope snobbery is a real thing - try not to fall into that trap...

oh dont worry Im not a scope snob....have never paid more than $400 for a scope BUT after killing 9 scopes over the years I finally bought my first loopy...and over next 20 years have managed to put one on each rifle...they just work and havent let me down..... the lifetime guarantee IF they even do so is my WHY..... its actually because Im so tight with my $$$ that they are my scope of choice.... and some of my scopes are nearly older than I am!!!

That gs scope will do the job for the time being. Got one sitting in the draw here but it must of been the friday afternoon one. Mate tried sighting it in and asked me to try and do it for him. Fuk me couldn't even see the target at 50m. I don't spend a lot on scopes and there's some not bad ones in the budget range these days.

Goats for culling and deer for eating mainly, that's the plan at least. Not after big buck trophies.
