    Have seen a baikal where the dovetail was milled (machined off) right at the base (at red line) so you end up with a flat top. Than that flat base been drilled and tap for a weaver rail.

    Will do the same thing to our Baikal at some point as the rail isn't quite straight and just makes it easier to put a scope on where I want it.
    Nothing is tough about having a 70 lb bow and looking like an uncoordinated praying mantis while trying to pull it back.
