About LinkBackshi CS, many ruger 10/22 and the mod 96 have a metal band around the end of the barrel adding downwards pressure onto the tip of the stock.
I liked the look but wanted a floating barrel. I cut away the band either side of the barrel and sanded out the barrel channel.
