    Marlin 925R

Hey fella's and fales's, question re my Marlin 925R front sight, I'm wanting to remove it cause I'm getting wash off it through the scope via the mounted torch, has anyone removed the front sight ? Is its just held down by the one screw or is there a recess as well ? If I can I want to remove it and find a small low screw to plug the hole if there is one.

    Cheers

    Aaron

P.s I have done the old black vivid and blk tape over it still get was at the bottom of the scope.

    Here in the manual

If wanted I have the complete end chopped off mine in the workshop I could disassemble and photo.

Lol thanks GM for pointing out the manual doh !!

Hey look if it won't take off too much of your time, yeah pics of the front sight off would be great so I configure out if it requires a tap from the back or a pull from the top to get it off.

    Pretty straight forward

Mine is a 980ss, yours should be similar.

Push the shroud off the front.

Slide the sight blade off to the side.

    Unscrew the sight base.

    Remove the sight base.

Putting it all back together shouldn't affect the accuracy of my rifle as that 175mm end has been off the rifle for nearly two years. This was my first rifle and I'd have to admit to trepidations about getting it chopped, but no regrets. Think it shoots better now.

    Thanks GM,
I'm sure the screw on mine is on the grove part, but wondering if there is a 2nd screw is hiding under the movable sight, I will give it a go tomorrow

    Many thanks
