No flash hole in Fiochhi brass

Old man had his T3 go pop on him the other night whilst doing wallabies for work, bit of gas blowback and when he opened the action the extractor fell off the side of the bolt, lucky he had thermal scope because managed to spot the extractor and the tiny spring from behind it laying on the footwell of the bike (was dark)
Made a bit of a pit in the bolt face and gave him a bit of a fright but didnt seem to be any other real damage, reassembled bolt and had rifle checked by gunsmith and it's good to go again.
Strange thing is, the round that he extracted hadn't actually gone off, the projectile was still seated but the primer was ruptured, was not pierced as far as I can tell it looks like it self destructed against the bolt face, what's left of it is still jammed in the primer pocket. I'm gonna pull the projectile tommorow and shine a torch in it but I reckon the brass didnt have a flash hole in it... anyone heard of this before?

Saw a 308Win cartridge (Winchester brand) fired at the range one day. Just the primer fired. No primer hole in the case, was the info later. No immediately apparent damage to the rifle but no more shots fired from that rifle that day.

Wouldn't be surprised if there was no flash hole, have heard this happen before.

Myself I had some Tula ammo that ignited the primer and not the powder and got a squib, which I fortunately noticed. Then it happened again so I disassembled the ammo and tossed it out.

Yep I had the exact same thing happen to me. New hornady brass and no hole. Hornady were great. New packet of brass and hat etc.
