Very nice, ya lucky bugger
Nice looking rifle. Shame about the calibre
He knows not what he says..
now I am a died in the wool blued walnut man - but I have to admit that is very nice indeed - simple elegant and looks like quality and in one of the truly great deer caliber's the mighty .270 ( I am prepared to bet that those who mok .270 have never used one in anger - leaves 6.5 crudmore for dead in terms of knockdown )
Yes the thing that decided me on this rifle was that it came in .270, and that it had a 24 inch barrel. Which I think you really want with a .270.
Just couldn't wait, so went out in the rain and did a basic sight in with a handful of Winchester accubond ct rounds I was given. 100yard 3 shot group of 11mm is starting to get me excited.
Here you go Danny.
Just for reference the red bull is about 3/4 moa. Hard to see but the top hole is actually 2 holes. Not really alot to go on yet, as I dont have much in the way of ammo, but Its a positive start.
the 130grn highland loads have surprise me as to how good they shoot, and kill.
75/15/10 black powder matters
How firm is the bolt lift / half open bolt position ?
Half bolt is there, but its not solid.
I’m glad all the theory worked out in practice! Look forward to seeing this in person.
