    Re gassing a scope

    Hey Guys
    Have a weaver grandslam im suspecting needs to be re gassed i guess with nitrogen?? anyone know any contacts that do this in NZ or is is not something thats done?,,,Seems to fog up slightly internally when wet and cold,which is most of the time at the moment up the Kaimais haha can wipe the lenses and still fogged up,,,any help appreciated

    There is a chap, surname Rackstraw down Wellington way who can do this for you. Hoping someone else can chime in with better details.

    Andy Rackstraw, taught by Joe Jacobs. No longer in the phone book but he was living in Upper Hutt somewhere, as I recall. You could ring the Upper Hutt Gun Shop and ask if he is still doing repairs.

    I was under the impression, however, that there was someone in Auckland who repaired telescope and binoculars.
    A good shot at close range beats a 'hit" at a longer range.

    Thanks I did think of that ,but i got it in from the states ,it now looks like its been in world war 3 !!!and the freight alone would cost me more than it will cost to get it done here ,will run with Andrew,,,i just read the warranty on the bottom and it says does not cover misuse and abuse so would rule this one out unfortunately haha
