    An update.

I thoroughly cleaned the rifle, checked action screws and rings and all seemed fine. Finally had a chance to test the rifle yesterday and it still wasnt right.

My first cold bore shot was a good 4" away from the next 3, those 3 were actually under an inch, but every other group was all over the place.

Im going to pull it all apart again, check the recoil lug and bedding areas again and im going to put different ribgs and bases on it. I realized that since it was shooting well, ither thsn the bedding job Id also changed my rings, I put a different pair of Tikka rings on that the ones i took off.
So hopefully these Warne rings I have will do the trick.

Goodluck beetroot. I understand the frustration you are going through. Sounds like your working through it meticulously enough that you should get it shooting right again.

I had a problem with my rem mod 7 shooting like a scatter gun the other day when mucking around at the range. I haven't changed anything on the rifle since buying it, so I put it down to using different ammo.
When I got home ,I started the cleaning process, and only then noticed that the scope had crept forward slightly. Sure enough, the ring screws were loose.
    Fixed it with Loctite now.
