    S1 MOA dial on a vx1

Asking on behalf of a mate who recently bought a very nice looking wood/blued Kimber in 300 wsm, the rifle came with a vx1 3-9x40 , think ole mate is quite happy with the scope but would certainly be more versatile if he could fit an S1 MOA turret to dial up the required moa for those longer shots past his PBR. So any info is appreciated. cheers

The dial wouldn't fit my vx-1 or freedom, the slots in the scope were too small for the dial. It fitted the vx3i fine.

If it’s on the site, it’s in the shop, that’s their thing.

    Try these guys

    https://www.nioa.com.au

I purchased a dial for my VX3i (Non CDS) and it was a straight swap.

    They're based in Aussie. $89AUD

The S1 dials only fit the scopes with the click adjustments, so not the old vx1 with the friction adjustment.

I have two or three stoney point type dial which screw onto the turret cap threads. Tested them on my vari x with friction turrets and ok. BUT- THESE are 15 moa marks per turn, not 12 so user needs to allow for that fact.

Thanks for the replies fellas , some interesting information there.
It does seem strange to me why they would stop making these dials but we will see if or when we try to get one. Cheers

I tried to get hold of one for awhile - no joy, none left in stock in NZ new. NZ distributor had a couple of S5 (Mil) dials left (obviously markings would be wrong), even contacted Leupold directly to see if I could get one from the states - nope.
I ended up sending my VX3 in to Leupolds service center to have the new ZL-CDS elevation turret fitted - cost is $260 +gst and freight - down side is the turnaround is up to 2 months (haven't got it back yet)

The photo was just an email exchange with the NIOA rep. From his email, he mentioned that they can supply it fitted with a zero stop but then your limited to only 1 full revolution. So only about 15 MOA
