    Sako a7's possible issue

    Hey Guys,

This is a pretty random thing to bring up, but I fell the need/responsibility too.

Wee while ago I was going to buy my mates sako A7 in 7mm RM and whilst pulling it apart I noticed the recoil lug missing. We had a look around on the floor but to no avail. I asked if/when he has had it apart and the only time was another cobber of his to adjust the trigger etc. Long story short - no recolection of recoil lug etc and so another was ordered. Now this rifle was fired many times and without it Everything was completely forgotten until I got a txt from him today to say he pulled his mates sako a7 in 7mm RM and.............no recoil lug

I'm not sure what to make of this except

Just putting it out there, I haven't even googled it yet to see if it's a common thing or not. All I can think of is that, thats 2 x sako a7 7mm RM that have been fired many times without recoil lugs - that shit is scarey crazy.

Are you sure it's not machined into or floating in the stock and not actually attached to the rifle?
Is the a slot under the receiver?
I dunno don't have one, just guessing.

I'm not familiar with sako A7s, but since he had one in .308 we pulled that apart as well to have a look, and that had the separate lug like the tikkas do. So unless they make the 7mm RMs different - which I wouldn't see why they would?

Just look at all the bottled water that's sold in NZ, at a price that's dearer than petrol, and we probably have more free fresh water per person than any other country. Crazy !!!

Talked to a Mate at the range this morning.

He had a Sako A7, 7RM a wee while ago, same deal no recoil lug, rung the H&F, "nope you are a liar, you must have lost it"...so he bought one....

He was up there to sight in a mates A7 & guess what calibre it was........yes it was the lightweight recoil lug less 7RM......

He had checked before he went up so he took the stock off his A7 308 & put it on the 7RM, it shot bloody well too...

I had a look at the stock as he put it on, the recoil lug was as tight as in his 308 stock, no way it would just "fall out"

It looks exactly the same as a T3 Tikka one, but engages the action more.

Would this cause a recall from Sako?
