    Sako Optilocks

    Hi Guys,

I have a Sako 75 and am after a set of 1" stainless Optilocks for it. What I want to know is whether the Sako Optilock mounts that are not the of Optilock ring and base set will fit the sako. Or do I have to finds a set that is ring and base?
It is to mount a Swaro Z5 3-18x44.
Maybe someone has been down this route before. The info on the back of the packets and the sako website does not answer my question as I am of the understanding the the 85 and 75 have different dovetails?

    Cheers in advance.

You should be fine with the one peice rings but it might be affected by the action length. I know it will fit on a magnum, - could be different on a shorter action.

Of the 2 I think both types have Sako options.
I recently sold a set of base and rings.
Unsure why they offer 2 versions .
Will look for a pic was sent to me

Unless the scope has a huuuggggeeee bell end, a heavy barrel, or you have weird eye relief, you will be fine with the one piece Sako Optilocks for a 44mm objective scope.

No difference between the 75 and 85 dovetails. Like dogmatix says, the one piece ringmounts are the best option in most cases. They are the lowest of the Optilock mounts in 1" and 30mm. The two piece Optilock ring and base mounts are higher than the ring mounts even in their LOW configuration and are a darn sight heavier and more expensive than the one piece ringmounts.

I've just put a 56mm on my Sako 85 using the one piece rings and it just fits

Make sure you get the optilocks for Sako's, not the optilocks for Tikka's

Yes, the ringmounts only come in LOW which is lower than the 2 piece ring base EXTRA LOW set.
