Calibre - think of it as an early 308. You can still get ammo, but it takes some phoning round
Rifle - probably the best lever action design built, there are issues but I like them alot

I just bought a 100 cases off reloaders and a set of dies off ebay $43NZ to my door, mine came with the old Weaver 3-9 accurtrak with the TV shaped lens weighs about..................more than the rifle....LOL

I was talking to a guy at the Broome markets sat.SA selling custom knives,has a mouser in 300 Savage He bought over with him said He couldn't get ammo or brass here.I gave Him reloaders link,a very happy YARPIE

The 300 savage was the parent case for the development of the 7.62x51 Nato/ 308 Winchester cartridge.
