Savage, give it the business with some JB paste, that might solve it.
Before replacing the barrel, get someone with a borescope to have a good look.
A lot of barrels can get a quick fix second lease on life. if its just throat erosion, you could get a gunsmith to trim a bit off the shoulder and thread and redo the chamber.
