Thread: Scope Repair

Has anyone successfully repaired a scratched up scope? If so, what/who did you use?

Scratches are fairly light/superficial. But won’t polish out.

Was thinking of getting it airbrushed.

Haven't gone to that extreme, but I've used birchwood casey aluminium black with a bit of success on some scopes to make it a uniform black colour again.

I have seen them Ceracoated.

Vivid

I wrap strips cut from tyre tube around mine. Poor mans rubber armour. Some of my scopes have had it for over 25 years.

It will also hide scratches, but for somrone wanting to re-paint their scope, it might not achieve the desired affect.
