    Seeking K98 owner

    Hi Team,

    Anyone know who was selling or who bought the Brno made (DOU) K98 off Trademe on Thursday? (he was selling three K98’s)

    I used to own the rifle after buying it at one of the Wgtn arms auctions. It was a beauty but it had non-matching numbers, except for the barrel/receiver. I sold it 12 years ago to the guy who just sold it. About 2-3 years ago I bought a Parker Hale Safari action off a guy on here. It came with a German WW2 era bolt.

    I’ve only just realised tonight (after discussing another rifle project with my dad) that the bolt serial numbers and series proof, match the K98 I sold 12 years ago -s/n 8889. What are the chances!

    If the seller or new owner want to reunite these two pieces then I’d be more than happy to oblige.

    $1860. I got it for $1200 all those years ago... barrel was like brand new and stock laminate is particularly nice. Had to sell it to pay bills when the gfc hit and building work had dried up. I’ve moved on though. Haha!

    To decide if we know the seller or buyer, we need to know who they are and I can not find the TradeMe Listing in the closed auctions.

    DO you know the wording used in the listing or the auction number or the seller and buyers Trademe user names?

    You can add the buyer as a favourite seller. You will get an email notification when they list something for sale. Might take a while but you will then be able to ask a question on their auction to get in contact with them

    Go through the sellers and buyers feedback, checking past auctions, classifieds, look for phone numbers in Q & A's...there will be a clue there somewhere, I checked and seen one that could be followed up on.
