Is the blade behind the trigger what actuates the block? Very cool and Id love something like that as a lite mountain rifle too, I can see why they are popular.
    Unsophisticated... AF!

The blade behind the trigger is the cocking piece

The latch is in the front of the trigger bow

I understand how you open it to drop the block etc, and trigger is obvious , it’s the cocking and de-cocking that has me baffled, push the back blade forward to cock I guess but how do you de-cock ?

Hold the cocking piece forward and pull the trigger and ease the cocking piece back to half cock

Identical to other exposed hammer falling blocks that go to full cock
Hold the hammer and pull trigger
Left trigger go as you ease the hammer forward and it goes into the half cock safety notch

    Not really on this one
Tang is short and the hand will use most of it
Move it forward and it interferes with the cartridge loading and ejection

While most of the US single shots were made to take an after market tang sight the British ones weren't always set up for them
