I have a 1/2x28 threaded 24 inch kimber and i feel you would struggle to go any bigger without cutting it down way shorte definitely would get a 14x1 without a trim which i doubt you want with the wsm

don't forget that 14mm is the thread OD, it will have an ID of 14-2x the thread depth, ie something just under 12mm. Hence even if your starting OD id only just over 14mm you will still have a shoulder approx 1-1.5mm deep right around.

Bigger issue is that the thread protector cap will be thicker than you barrel.

Minor diameter of 12.773mm for 14x1mm

Well I found that hard to believe, That the thread would only be 0.6mm deep.
So I went out to be safe and measured the ID of the thread caps and the Thread OD on 2 different barrels.

Well it was even worse than what MSL stated above. Both would have only about 0.5mm of thread depth.
1 cap was about 12.9mm id, the other about 13mm ID. The barrels were approx 13.9 and 14mm OD over the thread.

Got a photo of the shoulder? Is the 8400wsm barrel a larger profile than the 84l

It almost looks like gunworks may have put a shoulder on this to maintain the full length barrel when fitting the suppressor

I had one that was shortened and threaded 9/16, then a 9/16 to 5/8x24 thread adapter, with a built in shoulder, was bonded on top. Rifle came like that, was done by Hardy
