    Tikka ctr mag dropping out

    Hi fellas,

Had an issue with my tikka ctr where the mag releases and partly drops out under recoil.

Have not had it long and had no issues with the original stock. Have just put it in a krg bravo stock and still using the ctr mags.

The mag clicks in positively and I can’t get it out without pushing the release button.

Anyone else had this or heard of it? Google brings up a few similar stories but not with the bravo stock that I have found yet.

I’m shooting the hautapu prs match this weekend so running out of time to find a fix.

It's a known issue with a simple fix, just bend the latch cutout slightly with a screwdriver like in this video:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArRS...=GermanGunClub

DO NOT pull the follower and spring out of the magazine.
You can do it without drilling out the rivets in the bottom plate (plastic part) but it's a real bitch to get in and out.
I had a magazine that wouldn't feed properly and it took a lot of messing with the mag spring and feed lips to get it working right, I wouldn't go messing if you don't need to.

Where did you get your KRG Bravo from?
I haven't seen anyone import one yet that uses CTR mags, they only seem to import the AICS version.

My .223 Howa in the KRG Bravo wouldn’t feed properly from the AICS mags. Either failed to pick up the round, or else it would go nose up and jam.
Fixed it with a L Shaped extension over the mag catch. It lifted the mag up another 1.5mm higher.

Worked flawlessly after that with the .223.

However when I put a .308 into the stock, it would do what yours is doing Mick.
Under recoil the mag would pop out.
I took off the extension (was only expoxied on) and the .308 now has no issues.
So might be that your mag sits too high and when the action flexes under recoil (amazing how much it actually does), the mag is pushed against the bolt and is forced down.

I had the feed problem with my Finnwolf - the Scotsman fix was two strips of insulation tape over the holding notch on the front of the magazine.
Somebody more refined would have built up the notch with bronze or similar and renotched it about 1.5mm lower down.

    So bit of an update.

Did the little tweak with the screwdriver in the notch in the back of the mag as in the you tube clip and moved the forend plastic back as far as it would go, wasn’t very far but could get a piece of paper in the gap and now I can’t.

Anyway, 100 rounds in and no problems
