Tikka won't group with suppressor but will with brake.

Now I seem to recall someone had this issue awhile back... Can't for life of me remember who it was. Met a nice chap from Rolleston the other evening with this same issue with his 300 somethingorother.....when doing load development with hardy can fitted it shot like shit but great with a brake. In Christchurch reloaders he said. Just wondering if same person and or what issue was found to be...farkin antisocial to have to use brake all the time. Anyone remember??

Tikkas do have pretty thin barrels, and hanging a suppressor of substation weight on the end could be messing with the harmonics.
Brakes aren't as large or heavy, so if the problem repeats with multiple types of suppressors, the harmonics could be the problem.

I'd be checking suppressor alignment and rear bush clearance first.

Had the same issue on my tikka rem mag shot really well with muzzle break, put a maniatis supressor on it and it shot shockingly bad with 3 different ammo options, ended up getting it re threaded and now it shoots great.

What caliber? Could you try a can with bigger holes in case it's striking ever so slightly?

Redo the load development with the suppressor on.

Dont do that. Waste of ammo.

It'll be the suppressor - overbarrel nylon bush (try 4 shots with it removed), or alignment of muzzle thread or the suppressor.
Shoot the rifle with nothing on the end also, 4 shoots to see.

Have you had a close look at the can internals and see if there's a shiny spot? Often times it doesn't even need to physically touch to stuff the bullet's flight up if the can isn't quite on straight. A close pass on one side can mean the powder doesn't sit there and it looks shinier...

Tikka are a mass produced rifle, a fresh thread cut would be advisable just sayin

Try another model/brand of suppressor. I’m currently selling an ase as the rifle I put it on shot fantastic with a dpt. Tried a hardy and the ase and over 10 shot groups it was significantly better with the dpt

I have had this happen to me on two different rifles threaded by what should have been competent gunsmiths

I had same problem, TINY little polished bit on the end baffle was the only evidence.

Just wrap a bit of thread tape around it... [joke!]
