Im not reading confirmed examples of how or why Hardy barrels are bad.

Maybe they arent ..... Does anyone have a confirmed , personal-experience bad tale about a Hardy barrel ?

I have one True flight barrel, fitted by them, on my behalf.

The process and the end result were good enough that if I was doing another barrel at any time soon, I would use them again without bothering to look at other options.

My only experience with a hardy barrel was a 223 I bought from them, the bore was not concentric to the barrel (not even close) it still shot very well but it certainly put me off buying another one. It was cheap and bought directly from them, couldn't send it back as I chopped the barrel down before shooting it (Bore at the muzzle was concentric) gunsmith pointed out the non concetricity post docking the barrel. It was bad enough that you could see it with the naked eye (think Norinco jw15)

I have a mate who has 3 trueflite barrels, all of them phenomenal shooters and good service before and after sale from trueflite.
I have a trueflite on one of my rifles now, can't wait to see how it shoots.

I'm going with trueflite. They have the reamer I'm after. Otherwise I would consider a vulcan as well or Bradley if he's still making them.

    Quite a timely thread.
I'm making enquiries about a new barrel right now.
    Looking like Trueflite.
I haven't talked to Vulcan but hearing stories about communications being very hard work.

Whats the costs like for barrel and fitting... or is it just cheaper to just buy a new rifle?

    Asking for a friend.

In late 2021 True Flite charged me $814, for chamber crown and fitting of one of their barrels. Just reading back through the emails at the time, I note they were also very easy to deal with, they addressed all of my queries during the lead up to the work.

I had a Bartlein fitted on Tikka action for $1550 total locally. That included threading and shortening.

Gunworks quoted the same price for the smithing.$640. They charge quite a bit for threading a non Gunworks suppressor though.

I’m sure I got quoted by Trueflite $1900+gst for True Flite prefit match barrel plus smithing.

Another Truflite user here, and I'm planning on getting another in the near future.
To me they sound like an easy reliable option.
