Thread: Wanting a cheap little basher gun

Haha fuck I had a brand new 770 on order a couple of years ago but spotted a second hand 700 in the mean time which I picked up. Glad I did now what is the main problem with the 770?

Um where to start? They have perssed steel parts on the bolts the actions bind and are like running a file through sand paper. The triggers are dogs. I think the barrels are pressed in aswell so you cant rebarrel ever. They do shoot tho if you can get past the shit.

What sort of scope do you have in mind for the LR rig?

And I like the rebarrel idea someone had earlier.

At this stage i am unsure, thats a fair step off yet. Possibly a Sightron, Trijicon AccuPoint, or Leupold Mark 4. A Nightforce or Premier would be nice, but thats double the money of the trijicon. My plan was to get something in the 7mm Rem mag caliber, or at least a long action and rebarrel at a later stage for 338 edge once I have learnt to shoot LR properly. (I may of talked to Kiwi Greg a while back about this project).
