Why didnt it go bang like it should?

Today I missed out on what would have been my biggest stag yet ,an 8-10pointer because my 308 didnt hit the primer properly. I have had issues in the past with it misfiring but that was with old reloads and has since then had a heavy duty spring fitted and no more issues. When I got back to the truck I let off 3 shots plus the first case that didnt go off and they all worked perfectly. So why??? Name: 20190825_155148.jpg

Looks like its light striking, dunno why ? What breed of rifle ? any pics of the bolt face ?
Who fitted the spring and why ?
Has the firing pin been modified or damaged ?

I asked for the spring to be replaced because of misfire issues when I first got it, it was hitting the primers but not sending them off, an actual indent was made not like today's problem

try it with bolt not completely down...see what happens...I suspect the bolt has completed the downstroke as fireing pin moved so didnt hit properly and thus the issue. My norinco will do it,luckily we recranked bolt before deer bolted.
can you strip bolt??? check inside for crud...if not flush it out with the likes of crc or wd40 and see if any crap comes out.... do you release tension on bolt spring when you store it??? it does make a difference and bolt WONT go into rifle untill you retwist it back to semi cocked .

What sort of primers? A mate has a batch of cci primers that most of our rifles have trouble with.

Bolt halfway down still fires correctly I believe, won't be able check with a live round until I go out next. I store the bolt in the rifle unlocked. I will strip down tomorrow and see what it's like but like i say it fired off 4 rounds no issues afterwards. Maybe I didnt have the bolt right down like you say and that was enough to stop it. Il be taking out the 45 70 from now on until I can trust it again

Typical savage, they are prone to getting hung up, take firing pin out and get it all polished and make sure you're running a bit of grease in your bolt body. I had a couple of savage rifles that would do it and especially bad when it was cold in the tahr blocks condensation in the boot body would freeze and be enough for the pin to hang up enough to cause light strikes

Is it a really long flimsy unsupported FP? I'd suspect, particularly with a bubba spring behind it, that it'll bend/flex as it flies forward, may even be clipping the FP hole.
Do you store your bolt cocked as in the photo? that will weaken springs over time, they'll take a set. Was it the first shot you'd fired after storing it cocked?
You can blue up/colour in with vivid the firing pin and/or the hole, then fire a few times and see if/where the blue has worn off, may give clues.

That is not even a light strike! As above I am picking bolt not fully closed first and bolt full of shit second.
