    Will a Sako 85 barrel fit a Sako 75?

Anyone know for sure whether a Sako 85 barrel would screw straight on to a Sako 75? Looking at rebarrelling and have seen an 85 barrel for sale. I've asked a couple of gunsmiths in the past but the usual response is 'we'd have to have a look'.

Seems to be a question that comes up now and then, which no-one can answer for certain. I understand there may have been a change in threads between the 75 and 85 - hoping someone might know before I spend some money.

    Thanks in advance.

I had a t3 barrel screwed into 85 action and was told if wouldn't work on a 75..
That was HRE that told me and done the job and it works fine.

    1" and 16 TPI.
seems like they all are the same, from a quick google. thread wise at least, is there a cut on the back of the threaded section for the sako 85s attempt at CRF?

the t3 barrel spun straight into the 75 with no work required, the only downside being that the caliber stamp didnt line up in the normal spot and is now under my scope

I’ll give you a bet all modern sako/tikka barrels are the same
Why would they fuck arround with something as little as a thread
There is no reason to spend money on new tooling for that kind of thing
I bet all the barrels are made on the same Machines by the same people
Profiles etc will be the only difference

    I am only geussing though
