Yeah, part of the reason we made the move was that we could buy a better farm yet reduce debt considerably. Helped by the high prices carbon forestry were paying in our area at the time. We were quite high and wet where we were. In fact up to a meter more rain than where we are now on the coast. Honestly I dont know that I can compare pasture production. We were a farm that was marginal for dairy up north for a number of reasons and the only way we could compete was to be organic. Down here is just high quality pasture and land and no need to go down that path. So they will be so different in structure and management, that comparison is hard.
