    Great story and result Simon , I cant understand why they stopped the goat culling either ? They are starting to show up in numbers again.

    I expect they stopped the goat culling simply because of limited funding, and DoC identifying higher priority areas for attention? I spent some time grovelling around most of the eastern Rimutakas in 1979/80, and can confirm that back then goat numbers were modest at best, and generally pretty localised.
