Solo fly camp & new tikka stock

Hit the hills the other day for a quick solo overnight fly camp mission before linking up with some mates the next morning. The weather was far too hot for my liking and reminded me why I go diving and fishing over summer. The area is like a lot of public land places around here and well overloaded with deer. It really does need some culling done and it’s probably a bit of an attitude adjustment needed from some hunters to realise that’s the case and not feel guilty or judge others about shooting more then you can carry - particularly targeting hinds when the time comes again to have any meaningful impact. I’ve heard word that even the venison recovery guys won’t shoot these places anymore because the deer are too small and skinny and not worth the dollar.

Anyways, I also talk about a new Tikka stock made by @Fisherman . Awesome product, jump into the vid and have a nosey for yourself. Cheers.

    If in doubt don't.
I can remember as a kid in Te Anau a family friend tried to swim a river at the head of the lake using pack as flotation and he drowned.
I was only 5 at the time but he left a young wife and a new/first child behind.
It was something that has stuck and I was very young.

Excellent video it sure is steep when you see the animals tumble to the bottom. The stock on your 260 looks premo and comes in at a really good weight.

Nice work. I've often thought of going topless too on hot days but the thought of blood dripping over my sweaty body/rifle in hand and rounding a track corner face to face with a hiker would no doubt have them turning and running the other way.
