    Upper Taieri goose cull. 1097 geese shot!

    Upper Clutha New Zealand Deerstalkers association organised a follow on goose cull 4 weeks after the an aerial cull in the upper catchment of the Taieri on Waitangi weekend The vid (link below) shows a bit of footage took on the Sunday morning. 1097 geese were shot, given this was a cull and most of it was line driven and spot and stalk most birds were left.

    Over the weekend 23 shooters hunted the Saturday with 17 on the Sunday morning and 7 Sunday evening with the hunting getting better as the weekend progressed. Ideally we need 40+ hunters. It will be run again, so if you are a NZDA member, keep an eye out for it next year in the lead up to Waitangi weekend.
