I don't know how I feel about TC. I have crossed some ground that I got stuck on few times in my old manual truck (flat, swampy wheel rutted like paddock) recently.
Was especially bad after a bit of rain.
But it was to a favorite whitebaiting spot and easy to recover yourself when and if I did get stuck.
Not sure if it was the auto trans or a combination of both the trans and TC in my latest truck but I have never come close to getting stuck across the same bit ground.
Truck still has the original shit tyres on it that have just done 40000km.
I had a deer run out in front of me on a gravel road that just had fresh gravel on it a few months ago.
It come out of a wee cutting on the side of the road at a great rate of knots.
I wasn't going that fast as I was on a windy section of it.
Swerved aggressively to miss the deer but clipped it's ass end and headed for the far ditch.
Turned into the skid a bit to correct and ended up rather quickly back in the center of the road. TC light flashing away.
Pretty sure I would have ended up in the ditch if I didn't have it.
