    I'm not a mechanic but both of my brothers are. When you first asked the question I was thinking 6 to 8hours for a properly equipped workshop. I think you need to ask what took so long.

    When my mechanic son worked for a toyota dealership they used a book of standard charges for jobs like that. If they did it quicker the company won.
    If they did it slower the company probably still won.
