    Hilux 2006 egr valve

Ok, pumping the forum for info on getting an egr valve for my KUN26 hilux.
We have been chasing a fault since I cleaned my inlet manifold and looks like the valve is leaking and need replacement.
Any one got a low k one for sale in their back pocket.
The original ones are not cheap and since it is mainly the hack now I just want to keep it going!

And that's when the problem started!
My mechanic has gone through every thing else and the egr valve is leaking.
It was fine while it was dirty.
    Go figure

About 2-1/2 grand to delete, you’ll get better diesel mileage, a lot I believe. Going to do my Ute, along with injectors, about $5k

Eh? $2500 for an EGR delete??? Is that what you've been quoted?

Mine did the exact same thing after the intake manifold was cleaned out! Really annoying!

Could be a good time to just blank the bloody thing off... All it does is spew puke and crud into your intake manifold - not like it actually helps anything apart from a bit of feel good and warming the engine up quicker from cold.

The problem is the more I read about a delete the more confused I get!

All that an EGR does is directing warm exhaust gas back into the intake, increasing fuel consumption significantly and the complete opposite of what something like an intercooler might do.

    Not the case.

We’ve been through all of this before on here. There’s a lot of misconceptions about the function of the EGR, how it works, what it does and when. And why guys that want to delete theirs should really understand the science before they do. S

So is deleting it a good thing or not
I know of a couple of guys that had the valve fail and overheated their engine and it was poked.
I've had mine replaced at about 150,000 but was thinking the bypass might be a good idea
