Work (dealership) charge $100 flat rate diag fee.
    That 240-340 is a ripoff!!

I did have a bit of luck with cheap OBD readers and using free apps on the phone to get error codes.

Just buy a Amazon OBD2 kit, comes with Techstream, tells you everything the Toyota fellas can see and a whole lot more that they don’t understand anyway!

I use mine every service to check any codes, how the injectors are going, etc. Very effective. My Scangauge II gives me codes as well as monitoring key performance criteria.

It does everything. Pilot relearning, the works.

    It’s the Toyota system.

Yeah second that, my $190 Bluetooth dongle and $10 cellphone app literally pulls and records more data off the ranger than ford's setup. If you can program it to find the stream you want haha! Scary powerful, can brick the vehicle if you aren't careful but has saved me several hundred or more likely several thousand in diagnostic and tech assessment. I take in the readouts and get the exact parts swapped now.
