[QUOTE=Tommy;467105]I don't get a huge amount of 4x4s through work, but Navaras seem to be good for 4 figure bills every time. Anytime I need Ford/Mazda bits new and genuine from the Stealership has me swearing as they are the biggest pack of fuckwits on Planet Earth ( r at least the local three which are all tied together). I deal with all the various Akl central dealerships (Mcmillan BMW, Coutts, Autohaus, Andrew Simms, all of the Giltrap web, Armstrong Toyota, BM Workshop, everyone) in varying capacities as a customer and a supplier, and dealing with Ford always requires a deep breath before I pick up the phone, they are diabolical.

This seems to be the world over, ford service depts in the UK were shite , now Audi that's a different story.

we have a triton, 2.5 liter and it goes like stink !
but.....make sure if you buy a manual that 3rd gear engages when downshifting and when you get it home block off the EGR valve or your inlet manifold will clog up.
this being the wifes daily transport i had to upgrade the stereo, speakers. fit an amp and subwoofer, bullbars, led lights, canopy lights, rear camera...............
but having said all that we also tried a ranger and colorado, the colorado was bloody awful, the ranger was good but too much turbo lag.

Thanks guys. Still thinking hilux at the moment but no real hurry
All those with dogs waiting no longer fear death. Those with many dogs waiting even welcome it in it's time.

New trucks and their premature reliability issues (ie crapping out with less than 100K on them) is the main reason I went back to Landcruisers - pre CRD engines that can handle a bit of shitty fuel, and are actually built properly.
I'm drawn to the mountains and the bush, it's where life is clear, where the world makes the most sense.

Just don't buy a diesel Hilux pre-2008 and expect it to be bullet proof. You will have to do seats and seal service every 45k ($400) and oil pickup insp.
2010 onwards has 10k service interval.

I moved from a Surf to a Petrol Prado, simply because given the higher Rego & higher servicing costs for Diesel, the Petrol model will be $1200 cheaper per annum even factoring in MPG.
