Thread: New hilux

If I was in your position and looking for a new 4wd ute at a good price I would go with the Hilux or Navara. If you are wanting max resale value from it go with the Hilux.

I have had two Navaras but have just recently changed to a Ranger. After driving them all I would rank the Hilux the worst on road, however it is not far behind and certenly not terrible.

I think you need to be realistic about the fact that the Hilux and Navara are a 2005-2006 vehicle with slight improvements, where the Amarok, Ranger and Colorado are a 2011-2012 new from scratch vehicle and therefore are quite an improvement.
I guess unless you want to pay significantly more for a new ute you are kind of stuck with the Hilux or Navara, my Ranger cost $61k inc all accessories and the price on the Amarok was another 4.5k more, so the Narara and Hilux represent good buying at 45k.

From what you have said here I think your on the right track for what YOU require. Go the Hilux.
