Thread: New Set of Wheels

We traded in the old machine for a brand spanking new one, bloody cried as the 1st job the machine did was rockbreaking a pit for a couple of fuel tanks. The boy's say she's nice to drive, got a lot of mod cons in her. Hate to think what would happen if the computer shit itself.

Not us, we prefer using our own gear, good money in rockbreaking especially when we are the main contractor.
We have another rock job, a large one in a couple of months and in between it's busy on our other sites.
Rockbreaking is just a small part of it.

No auger for this machine but our 3.5t machine has an auger, could do a deal?

A couple of our clients use machines for rock breaking, 3 diggers on full time breaking, it must be a boring job let alone extremely hard on the hydros

It's hard on gear alright, not so much the hydraulics but pins and linkages on the boom and dipper arm, that's why the charge out rate is higher than normal. We use another one of our machines onsite to dig and load out the rock, saves disconnecting the rock breaker. The job it was on took 2 weeks to break 120m3 rock, not hard out as other things were carried out at the same time. It's not a boring job as it requires a little skill especially when breaking in fractured rock. None of my guys mind doing it. It's on the North Shore removing underground fuel tanks and late next week out West building a new site. We are tits out this side of Xmas with plenty of work in the pipeline.

Technically its a new set of tracks. Just saying.

Dad's selling his Cat 312c and hoping to up grade to a newer one soon. They're invaluable on a property like ours.

Unfortunately these will have to be dug by hand, too close to the services for the neighbours (right of way running down the side of our property and I never trust that the services are put where they should have been).
